Motion for Board Meeting
- Any big decisions require a Board vote. Please write motion language in the style of the following example (happy to assist!): "The Peds SIG moves to initiate legislative work on schools-PT salary classification."
- Usually big decisions are discussed for a long time to prior to making a motion so that the main ideas and plan already have a good deal of consensus by the time of the vote.
- Smaller decisions may come up in a meeting via a Motion without lots of discussion ahead of time; however, the motion maker should have all the details prepared and be ready to answer questions as needed.
- If you are not a Board member, please discuss any planned motions with the Board Liaison well ahead of time.
